At UBC we cover the first- and second-year stream — MATH 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 110, 111, 120, 121, 131, 152, 180, 184, 190, 200 and 221. At SFU we cover MATH 100, 110, 113, 125, 126, 130, 150, 151, 152, 154, 155, 157 and 158. We also teach BC high school math from Grade 8 through Foundations of Math, Pre-Calculus 11 and 12, and Calculus 12. If you are somewhere else, send the course code and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Yes. We have a page for each of thirteen SFU first-year courses, including MATH 150 and 151 (Calculus I, with and without review), MATH 152 (Calculus II), the life-sciences stream in MATH 154 and 155, and the social-sciences stream in MATH 157 and 158. Sessions run online, or in person in the Vancouver and UBC area.

Yes — BC high school math from Grade 8 through Grade 12, including Foundations of Mathematics, Pre-Calculus 11 and 12, and Calculus 12. We work from your class notes, homework and past tests, so written solutions match the way your teacher marks. Schools name their pathways differently; we go by your course outline and the unit you are on now.

Usually, yes. First- and second-year calculus, linear algebra and statistics cover much the same ground wherever you study — Langara, Douglas, BCIT, KPU, Capilano and further afield — and we work from your own materials rather than a fixed curriculum. Choose “Other University” on the booking form, tell us the institution and the course code, and we will confirm what a session would cover before you commit to anything.

UBC graduates with master's and PhD degrees in mathematics and related fields, with several years of teaching experience at UBC and at other colleges. That background is the reason sessions can start from your own assignment rather than a prepared script — the tutor has usually taught or marked the material you are stuck on.

One-on-one sessions are $65 per hour. Group blocks add $25 per hour for each additional student, so the cost per person falls as the group grows — two students work out to $45 each and three to about $38 each. Session length varies, so start the booking form or text us with your course and we will confirm the exact price before you commit to anything.

For your first session, we include a 30-minute fit check. If the session does not feel helpful within the first 30 minutes, we can stop there and you will not be charged. If you choose to continue past the first 30 minutes, the full session is billed at the regular rate.

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to book. A group block is $65 per hour plus $25 for each additional student, so two of you pay $45 each and three pay about $38 each — a tutor still leads the whole session. One-on-one booking is there when you would rather have the full hour to yourself.

Both. In-person sessions run in the Vancouver and UBC area, and live online sessions over Zoom reach anywhere in British Columbia — the instruction is the same either way, and you can switch between the two as your schedule changes.

Give us at least 24 hours' notice and we will move the session at no charge. If something comes up on shorter notice than that, tell us as soon as you can and we will do what we can to find another slot.

We follow whatever you and your family prefer. Many students book directly and handle their own sessions; for younger students parents often arrange scheduling and want a short note on what we covered. Either way we keep communication clear and professional, and we will tell you honestly what a session did and did not get through.

Bring whatever you are stuck on — your online homework login, your class or lecture notes, the current problem set, and a past test or midterm if you have one. Starting from your real coursework means the first session is productive rather than diagnostic.

Yes. WebWork is one of the most common reasons students contact us. We work through the set with you and focus on why answers are being marked wrong — syntax, units, rounding or the underlying method — so the next assignment goes faster. WebWork is what UBC uses; if your course marks homework through a different online system, bring the set and your login and the session works the same way.

Yes. Exam prep is a large part of what we do, from reviewing the concepts a course keeps testing to working through past papers and unit tests under time pressure and fixing the specific mistakes that lose marks.
