Questions students ask before booking
Do you tutor Pre-Calculus 11?
Yes. We cover factoring, quadratic functions and equations, radicals, rational expressions, sequences and series, and trigonometry including the sine and cosine laws, plus unit test and final exam preparation.
My marks were fine until quadratics. What usually causes that?
Almost always factoring fluency. Quadratics are the first topic where slow or unreliable factoring stops being survivable, so the drop shows up there even though the cause is earlier. We check that first.
Is Pre-Calculus 11 enough for university?
Usually not on its own — most science, engineering and commerce programmes at UBC and SFU ask for Pre-Calculus 12. Pre-Calculus 11 is the prerequisite for it, so it matters as the foundation rather than as the qualification.
My school calls the course something slightly different. Is that a problem?
No. BC schools name and order their pathways differently. We go by your course outline and the unit you are on now.
Are sessions online or in person?
Both. Online sessions work anywhere in British Columbia and are how most high school tutoring runs. In-person sessions are available in the Vancouver and UBC area subject to tutor availability.
