Privacy Policy

Learn4Less Tutoring Services Ltd. ("Learn4Less", "we", "us") provides mathematics tutoring, workshops, and related learning resources to students in British Columbia, Canada and elsewhere. This policy explains what personal information we collect through learn4less.ca, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

We collect information you enter into forms on this site. Depending on the form, that includes:

• Your name, email address, and phone number.
• The course, grade, or school you are asking about, and the message you write us.
• For workshop registrations, the same contact details plus which workshop you signed up for.
• For job applications through our Join Our Team page, your background, availability, and what you tell us you would bring to the role.

You choose what to send us. Every form asks only for what we need in order to reply and arrange the service you asked about.

If you become a tutoring client, we keep records needed to run the service: your scheduled and completed sessions, their duration and rate, payment status, any account credit, and notes our team adds about your sessions.

If you create an account, our authentication provider stores your sign-in credentials and basic profile. We never see or store your password.

If you buy access to a recorded workshop, we record the purchase and the date your access expires.

We use your information to:

• Reply to your enquiry and arrange tutoring, workshops, or a conversation about working with us.
• Schedule, deliver, and keep records of tutoring sessions.
• Send invoices, payment links, and reminders about unpaid sessions.
• Send reminders and follow-ups for workshops you registered for.
• Improve the site and understand which pages people find useful.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

When you give us your phone number on one of our forms, you agree that we may contact you by SMS text message about the request you made. The messages we send are:

• Confirmations that we received your booking request, message, or application, and when to expect a reply.
• Reminders before a workshop you registered for, including the link to join, and a short feedback survey afterwards.
• Service messages about your tutoring, such as scheduling follow-ups and reminders about sessions that are still unpaid.
• Replies from our team to questions you send us. Our number accepts two-way messages.

Message frequency varies and depends on your own activity — typically one to three messages per request. Message and data rates may apply. We do not send promotional mass texts.

You can stop receiving SMS from us at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can reply HELP for assistance. You may also email us or call us to be removed. Opting out of SMS does not affect the tutoring service itself; we will use email instead.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is sold to third parties. The only parties that handle your phone number are the service providers listed below who deliver messages on our behalf, and they may not use it for their own purposes.

We also send email for the same reasons. Transactional email — a confirmation, an invoice, a workshop link — is part of the service you asked for.

We use a small number of established providers to run the service. They process information on our instructions and only for the purpose stated:

• Supabase — stores our database and uploaded files.
• Clerk — handles account sign-in and authentication.
• Stripe — processes payments. Your full card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our systems.
• Resend — delivers our email.
• Twilio — delivers our SMS messages.
• Vercel — hosts the website.
• Google Analytics — measures site usage, as described below.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country may be accessible to that country's courts and law enforcement under its laws.

Beyond these providers, we disclose personal information only when you ask us to, or when we are required to by law.

We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people arrive at the site. These tools set cookies or similar identifiers and collect technical information such as your approximate location, browser, and the pages you view. We use this in aggregate to improve the site, not to identify you personally.

Our sign-in system also sets cookies that are necessary to keep you logged in. The site does not work correctly without those.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a Do Not Track setting.

We keep enquiries and applications for as long as they are useful for following up, and business records such as session and payment history for as long as we are required to for accounting and tax purposes. When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

Access to our administrative systems is restricted to authorised staff and protected by authentication. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can withdraw your consent to being contacted at any time, subject to any legal or contractual obligations that remain.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We tutor students of high-school age and above, and we know that some are under the age of majority. Where a student is a minor, we expect a parent or guardian to make the booking or to consent to it. If you believe a child has given us personal information without that consent, contact us and we will remove it.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we use your information will be communicated to you directly where we are able to.
