A, B and C — which chapters are for your section
UBC teaches Math 100 in several sections, and they do not all cover the same material at the end of the term. Chapters 1–9 are common to everyone. The last chapters are split into three streams, and the letter beside a chapter says which stream it belongs to. If a chapter has no letter, it is for everybody.

- Error in Taylor polynomials, Newton's method, and an introduction to differential equations.
- B
- Newton's method and differential equations, going further into state-space diagrams and logistic growth.
- C
- Multivariable calculus: geometry in three dimensions, partial derivatives, and optimisation including Lagrange multipliers.
Not sure which one you are in? Your section’s syllabus or Canvas page will say which topics are examinable. The core chapters are worth doing either way.
